This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how we use them and how you can manage your cookie preferences. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites place on your computer, smartphone, tablet or other device when you visit a website. Cookies can help a website recognise your device, remember preferences, provide certain functionality and understand how the website is being used.

5. Third-party services

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website, including which pages are visited and how visitors navigate the site. Google Analytics sets cookies including _ga, _gid and GAESA (see table above). This involves a transfer of data to Google LLC in the United States. Google Analytics cookies are non-essential and will only be set with your consent, given through our cookie consent tool. For more information, see Google’s own privacy and safeguards documentation, including the standard contractual clauses / IDTA it relies on for UK and EEA data.

Google reCAPTCHA

We use Google reCAPTCHA to help protect our website and enquiry form from spam and automated abuse. reCAPTCHA sets cookies including rc::a and rc::c, served from Google’s gstatic.com domain. This involves a transfer of data to Google LLC in the United States, under Google’s standard safeguards for international transfers. Because reCAPTCHA is necessary to protect the security and integrity of our form, we treat this as a strictly necessary technology.

Cloudflare

We use Cloudflare to help secure our website against bots and malicious traffic, and (where applicable) to manage load balancing between servers. Cloudflare sets cookies including __cf_bm and cf.turnstile.u (see table above). These are treated as strictly necessary, as they support the security and stable operation of the site.

Vimeo

We use Vimeo to host and display videos on our website. Our homepage includes an embedded Vimeo video so visitors can view Boomerang Booth in action without leaving our website.

Vimeo’s embedded player may use cookies and similar technologies for purposes including player functionality, remembering player preferences and generating video analytics. Vimeo currently documents cookies used by its embedded player, including:

Cookie Purpose Duration
vuid A Vimeo-generated identifier used for video analytics 2 years
player Stores preferences for the Vimeo player, such as volume, quality and captions 1 year
flags Stores feature settings enabled by the video owner 1 year

Other cookies may be used by Vimeo depending on the video, player configuration and security requirements, so the exact cookies placed when you view an embedded video may vary. Vimeo also provides a Do Not Track (DNT) player parameter which can prevent the player from setting certain new cookies during a viewing session, although essential security cookies may still be used. For further information, please refer to Vimeo’s own privacy information.

17Hats

We use 17Hats as our CRM and enquiry management system. Our website contains an enquiry form that allows visitors to contact us about our services; information you submit – such as your name, email address, telephone number and event details – is transferred to 17Hats so we can receive, manage and respond to your enquiry. This processing of your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

In addition, our compliance scan has identified that cookies are set on 17Hats’ domains when the enquiry form is loaded, including a session cookie (plack_session), load-balancing cookies (AWSALB, AWSALBCORS), and analytics-related cookies (_ga, _gid). We treat the session and load-balancing cookies as strictly necessary to the form’s operation, and the analytics-related cookies as requiring your consent. We are reviewing this configuration with 17Hats directly and will update this policy if the position changes.

WordPress

Our website is built using WordPress, which we use to manage and publish our website content, including blog posts. WordPress itself, as well as any plugins or other technologies installed on our website, may use cookies or similar technologies for purposes such as website functionality, security, performance and remembering user preferences. The specific cookies used may change when we add, remove or update plugins, themes, or other website features. We review our website technologies periodically and will update this Cookie Policy when necessary.

Accept non-essential cookies.

Reject non-essential cookies.

Choose which categories of cookies you allow.

Change or withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie settings link in our website footer.

Under UK rules, consent for non-essential cookies must involve a clear and positive action – simply continuing to browse the website does not count as valid consent.

8. Managing cookies through your browser

You can also control or delete cookies through your internet browser. Most browsers allow you to:

View cookies stored on your device.

Delete existing cookies.

Block cookies, including third-party cookies.

Allow cookies from specific websites.

9. How long cookies remain on your device

Cookies may be session cookies (temporary, deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (remaining for a set period, or until deleted). The length of time a cookie remains on your device depends on its purpose and the service that places it. Where third-party services are used, that third party may determine the duration of its own cookies.

10. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes to our website, the services and technologies we use, the cookies placed as a result, or applicable laws or regulatory guidance. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We recommend re-scanning our website periodically so that this policy continues to reflect the cookies actually in use.
